Washington: Obama not to utter word "genocide"
US policy on the issue of the so-called Armenian genocide will not change, US White House spokesman Josh Earnest said at a briefing in response to a question about the possibility of the use of the term "genocide" by US President Barack Obama in his annual speech on April 24, Armenian Report news website said.
“Traditionally, the president in late April delivers a speech in connection with this situation, and I do not think that our policy in this issue will change,” Earnest said.

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey`s predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place. While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.
